Christopher Fricke, MBA

Armando and I worked directly together during his tenure with the Central Bank of Mexico where we discussed fundamental and technical analysis in a variety of currencies and markets as well as planned for and executed upon large Foreign Exchange transactions. Armando proved himself to be an exceptionally quick study in financial markets, quickly understanding complex topics across a variety of disciplines including, but not limited to, macro economics, pricing and execution of derivative instruments, liquidity drivers, and the application of technology in trading. He also showed himself to be extraordinarily adept at applying such skills to commodity trading; note that he was instrumental in Bloomberg's "Trade of the Year" several years ago for his role in Mexico's Mayan crude hedge, a feat few can boast. He has achieved all of this while maintaining his natural characteristics of being approachable, affable, and humble. No wonder he was quickly promoted Banco de Mexico's Head Trader FX and Commodities, despite such a young age! With his near completion of a Ph.D. at the University of California, and a resulting search for the next chapter in what I am confident will be a storied career, I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending the "soon-to-be" Dr. Rangel to any enterprise lucky enough to receive him.
