  Over the course of two years, I taught English at the primary school CEIP Virgen del Rosario (2019-20) and at the secondary school IES Cervantes (2020-21) in Madrid, Spain. As a Language Assistant, my Bilingual Coordinators expected me to fulfill multiple responsibilities: these included assisting educators with group activities, test preparation with individual students, and independently planning and presenting my own lessons. Through my everyday duties as an LA, I gained experience lesson planning, public speaking, and checking for understanding. At IES Cervantes I volunteered to help lead two extracurricular activities, the United Nations Global Classrooms program and the debate team. In both these roles I coordinated with educators, students, and event center staff to prepare for each program's end-of-year regional conference.
