      Arlene Salyards serves as the Director of Special Projects for the Northeast Colorado BOCES. The NE BOCES is comprised of 12 member districts in the northeast corner of the state. These districts participate in a variety of services that include special education, professional development, teacher preparation, federal grants, gifted & talented, and other initiatives as dictated by the member districts. Arlene's responsibilities include overseeing the Wide Area Virtual Education System (WAVES) which was established throughout the BOCES consortium for all districts participating in distance learning. Other responsibilities include Federal Programs, GT, Alternative Licensure, Professional Development, and infrastructure maintenance and upgrades. As the BOCES Director of Special Projects, Arlene also participates in professional organizations that provide knowledge of new services, trends and reporting requirements within education. Professional memberships includes the Colorado Association of Leaders in Educational Technology (CALET), Colorado Education Broadband Coalition (CEBC), and Committee of Practitioners. Arlene also has served on Coordinating Council for the Colorado Association of School Executives (CASE) in 2008 and President of CALET in 2009. Show less
