Researching the cellular mechanisms of painful diabetic neuropathy through blood plasma exosomes with mouse models under Dr. Daniela Menichella & Mr. James Coy-Dibley at Miller-Menichella Labs in Chicago - Extracted blood plasma samples from the high-fat diet mouse model and wild-type mouse model through cardiac puncture - Isolated blood plasma exosomes from mouse models using several optical and non-optical techniques such as Ultracentrifugation and Size-Exclusion Chromatography - Employed detection techniques such as Dynamic Light Scattering, Western Blot, and Electron Microscopy to further characterize exosomes - Future work will involve molecular characterization of blood plasma exosomes through techniques such as Proteomics and RNA-seq
