As an intern in a crypto-currency based start-up, I had various roles and responsibilities. TravelbyBit mission is to make crypto travel easier and to increase adoption and utilisation of crypto-currency. I worked in business development to expand adoption of the in-house built POS (point of sales) system. The POS allowed merchants to accept payments in crypto-currency and converted it automatically into Australian denomination for merchants and reconciled the payments for tax purposes. The POS accepted a wide range of crypto-currency including Nem, Dash, Bitcoin just to name a few. I also worked on funding proposal for Dash masternodes for TrvaelbyBit – this included a video presentation of how TravelbyBit would encourage adoption and utilization of Dash across the TravelbyBit merchants. The proposal included an analysis of the current Dash utilization within Australia and a plan to increase utilization through community events, outreach and education. I was also involved in online brand outreach through focused content through Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. The online brand expansion included content for blogs, bots for twitter to repost relevant crypto-currency posts and daily instagram posts of everyday use of the POS at merchants. I also planned events at bars and restaurants that were based on the principle of adoption and utilization. For instance we planned events for adoption of Dash at a local bar in Fortitude Valley, this included creating buzz around the event though social media, then on the day of the event we opened crypto wallets for the attendees (adoption) and air dropped $10 Aud equivalent of Dash into their new wallets and through the TrvelbyBit POS system showed them how to use their wallet and Dash for services (utilization). This strategy not only increased awareness for Dash but also adoption and utilization of Dash and the TravelbyBit POS system
