  Robert Palmer founded Palmer Moving & Storage in 1910 on the east side of Detroit with the purchase of a horse and wagon and a sizable investment in enthusiasm. Today, over 100 years later, the Palmer Family and its employees continue to build upon that foundation. Still family owned and headquartered in the metro Detroit area, Palmer Moving is now in its third generation of leadership. In 2018, Palmer became an interstate agent for Atlas Van Lines and changed its name to Palmer Moving Services to better reflect our full suite of moving capabilities including complete relocation services for all international and domestic locations. Of the 10,000 shipments Palmer Moving books each year, 84% are self-hauled across the United States by our team of 200 employees and fleet of 150 trucks, vans and trailers. Driven by the principle of "providing relocation services that people would choose to use again" Palmer is proud of being awarded "International Agent of the Year" every year from 1995 to 2016. Palmer Moving Services capabilities extend well beyond house-hold goods.
