  On top of my responsibilities as an editor, I oversee the publishing catalogue of the house and guide the Editor and Editorial Intern. As part of the rights and permissions team, I also manage and safeguard the copyright of our titles and am involved in contract negotiations for the sale of rights.

  Book Production—I evaluate manuscripts and plan the house's editorial calendar. I've worked with over 30 authors and editors on all stages of editing, from developmental stages to line-editing to proofreading; titles include Fiction, Poetry, and Nonfiction. I also typeset books with Adobe InDesign and prepare titles for printing and ebook production.Project Management—I oversee the production timeline of titles and maintain project budget. This involves maintaining author relations and managing deadlines of multiple authors. I draft contracts for authors and freelancers, work with designers on art direction for book covers, collaborate with the marketing team on campaign strategy and organise literary events (eg. book launches, panel discussions for Singapore Writers Festival).Rights and Permissions—I'm part of a team that drafts contracts for entities seeking permission to adapt or use our work. Part of this work involved negotiating permissions fees with publishers and authors, acquiring rights for anthologies, tracking the validity of existing contracts and renewing and renegotiating contract terms for reprints.
