  Served as a lead engineer for M1A1 Abrams tank transmission. Managed design improvement projects, production and test support. Provided technical support to the local and overseas customers, U.S. Army Tank Automotive Command (TACOM) and a licensee, S&T Dynamics, South Korea. • Led design, manufacturing and testing of M1A1 tank transmission variant for an overseas licensee S&T Dynamics in South Korea. It generated multimillion dollar contract over several years to provide technical support and kits for assembly parts. • Developed and assisted in implementation of an overhaul and upgrade program for M1A1 tank transmission for Anniston Army Depot for the US Army. It contributed to a multimillion dollar contract to provide overhaul kits and technical support. Also resulted in over 50% reliability and durability improvement of overhauled transmissions. • Led a team of five engineers to conduct theoretical analysis of the current transmission design for a heavier M1A1 tank (75 Ton) application for TACOM. Prepared project plan and costing for conducting probe testing of the current transmission design at a higher vehicle weight (75 Ton). Allowed opportunity for potential transmission upgrade contract.   Implemented product improvements for M1A1 Abrams tank transmission, its variants and legacy transmissions for M88, M60, M109 and M113 tanks. Supported production, sales, purchasing, test and application engineering. Provided technical assistance to TACOM and an overseas licensee, Tong-Il Heavy Industries of South Korea, related to problems and application of the transmission. Provided quarterly reviews for project updates to the customers. • Developed and implemented a plan to review parts usage and overhaul procedures at Anniston Army Depot for overhauling M1A1 tank transmission. It resulted in a contract by TACOM to develop parts kits and recommended improved process to increase durability of the transmission. • Created reports and overhaul manual for Anniston Army Depot transmission shop mechanics. Resulted in improved communication, better outcome and accountability of the overhaul process. • Developed supply chain management parts kits for the U.S. Army Anniston Army Depot for M1A1 tank transmission overhaul program for various vintage transmissions. • Led silver plating resourcing qualification program for M1A1 tank transmission steering unit. Minimized disruption in production schedule. • Conducted design modifications to the M1A1 transmission steering unit to address heavier vehicle weight steering capability. Eliminated no steer complaints from customer. • Prepared a project plan and follow thru implementation for a variant of M1A1 tank transmission for Israeli personnel carrier. • Selected to conduct Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) on U.S. Marine Core Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle (EFV) transmission. • Selected as team leader for Design for Six Sigma for EFV flex coupling design. • Conducted design modification, procurement of hardware and validation testing for M109 tank transmission to adapt to Russian T-71 tank application.
