I support a team of Regional Directors stationed across the country to expand the use of donor-advised funds and other charitable giving vehicles. In my day-to-day work, I develop marketing collateral, web content, and other communications resources to aid them in their goal. By producing accessible messaging around the benefits of tax-efficient philanthropic strategies, I assist the development team in securing more than $1B in charitable contributions each fiscal year.

I manage a blog and event series that collect stories from people who reflect back on their favorite childhood books, and think about the ways in which the lessons from those books continue to impact their adult lives. My bolder goal is to help people realize the importance of these books, and then to take action to bridge the literacy gap for those children who don't otherwise have the opportunity to read and love books of their own. As a one-woman in-house development department, I manage the annual campaign, designing solicitation strategies to bring in $600,000+ annually in small- to mid-sized term gifts. My efforts have doubled the annual intake since my arrival on the job. Additionally, I continue to raise endowment gifts by parceling off the Writers House's operations and marketing them off piece by piece, connecting donors' interests with a facet of our mission-driven work, and establishing permanent funding for the House's core operations. I helped to raise $800,000 in capital funding for the Writers House's first and only physical expansion, which will create new office space, classroom space, and a state-of-the-art digital recording studio. I serve as the main liaison to the KWH Advisory Board, which formalized from a loosely affiliated booster club to a structured, mission-driven, and active group under my guidance in 2010. I plan and manage all of the Writers House's fundraising events, oversee the KWH Tumblr site, and handle all donor outreach, communications, and stewardship. As an added bonus, I get to serve as the Writers House's "official unofficial photographer." Show less
