I like how adventurous and outgoing Ariel comes across as through her descriptive background and current hobbies. I liked hearing about how resilient she is through her

As a marine biologist my ultimate goal is to bring the wonders of the ocean to more of the human world and help educate others on the different creatures and places that exists underwater. However beautiful the ocean is, I have already brought awareness to the dangers that might sometimes lurk in it and have defeated multiple sea monsters in my lifetime. I have overcome many obstacles to get to this point, such as defeating not one but two evil sea witch sisters, learnt how to navigate and adapt to a whole other world and also rule it alongside my new family, raise my daughter as the next heir to the throne, combined two kingdoms who previously were enemies, and help get rid of negative stereotypes the humans had of mermaid people. In “The Little Mermaid” by Hans Christian Andersen, I learned that however hard a sacrifice you make for something you want, you aren’t always guaranteed to obtain it, that however doesn’t mean you should stop trying. Alas, sacrificing my voice in this version in order to be able to obtain my true love and acquire the soul I so wanted, didn’t work out so well as he ended up marrying someone else. I however, stayed true to my desires and didn’t let evil consume me, which led me to have another shot at obtaining a soul by doing good deeds as a “daughter of air.”In “The Little Mermaid” by Disney my ability to speak multiple languages led me to be able to receive my ocean friends help in defeating one of the sea witches that got in the way of my happily ever after and I learned how the ability to form bonds and different connections can come in handy when I’m in a pinch. These connections were especially useful when I became queen as I was able to form new treaties with different neighboring kingdoms, and I also was able to use them to take off my marine biologist career. Ultimately, in “The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea” I had to reuse my previous experience to defeat the second sea witch sister but this time I had to adapt and be more conscious of my decisions as my daughter was also caught up in all of this and I didn’t want her to be hurt. I learned to adapt, come up with solutions on the spot, use different languages to contact allies, and defense skills to once again come out victorious and save my family and kingdom. My past experiences aided me in being able to once again defeat evil and in the process was able to get rid of the evil targeting my family once and for all. Having done so I was able to retire from my queenly duties later on and start my marine biologist career. Being able once again bring both land and sea kingdoms together and educate those who wanted to know more about the ocean. As I was no longer queen, I became more approachable by others who were curios to learn more about the ocean and what resided in it, much to my marine biologist heart. Show less
