  • Survey private and public properties within the Asian Longhorn Beetle (ALB) quarantine zone for host plants and inspect for signs of ALB damage. • Identify common tree and shrub species on Long Island and maintain working knowledge of ALB host tree species. • Identify invasive and native insects found on Long Island, including ALB and its lookalikes, as well as Spotted Lantern Fly (SLF). • Act as captain for zones within the ALB quarantine, including maintaining an updated map of completed property inspections within the zone and delegating work to teams that are assigned to the zone each week. • Provide homeowners with relevant information and results of inspection. • Use Response Outreach Area Mapper (ROAM) software to accurately plot location of host plant species and size on inspected properties.
