  My responsibilities include •Tracking over 1,300 pieces of legislation and informing AFSCME’s Political and Legislative Director, staff, and members of the status of AFSCME’s priority legislation. • Responsible for tracking new ballot initiatives that might have an impact on AFSCME members. •Responsible for communicating with Legislators’ staff and updating and maintaining a 95-bill tracking system in the areas of child care, higher education, design-build, elections and the First Extraordinary Session on Transportation of the 2015 Legislative Session. •Reading and critically analyzing over 330 introduced and amended bills to understand the impact on AFSCME members. •Composing, updating, proofreading, assembling and delivering over persuasive lobbying letters to the California State Legislature and Governor.
