I also work as an instructor in the Junior Lifeguard program, in which I instruct nearly 1,000 children per summer about aquatic and ocean safety and help teach curriculum about healthy life choices, marine life, and the environment. Specifically as a "Lifeguard II" I fill a role as a leader and mentor for younger lifeguards and assume more responsibility in day to day operations.   Completed the approval process and planning of a clinical study in which premedical students will be trained to conduct free skin cancer skin exams at college sporting events. The students will classify the participants as either high risk or low risk for skin cancer. The high-risk patients will be given an appointment that is about eight times sooner than the typical wait time for a member of the community calling a dermatology office on their own; the low-risk patients will be advised to see their primary care physician for a follow-up.   I compiled and analyzed data for the intrahospital myeloma research project. I analyzed patient charts to track the progression of their cancer and how they were treated. I completed an extensive demographic analysis of all clinic myeloma patients for comparison to national trends for Dr. Prichard’s lecture use for the hospital residency program. I completed a cost analysis of the treatment methods with respect to the three main insurances accepted at the hospital to assist in developing a cost-effective treatment plan.
