Realistically, he was one of the people you could turn to on complex, nuanced problems that I doubted could be solved without intense research and re-architecture... and he'd crush it. I've seen him run full stack features of both UI, API, and asynchronous complexity with the same diligence and success. It also helps he's a tireless mentor, able to explain complex ideas to junior members very effectively. I'd recommend Ari highly, since I've seen him learn several new technologies and develop mastery in them with the same good natured personality with which he does everything.

The features I work on touch all layers of the stack. I am equally comfortable profiling database queries for performance as I am writing css. The particular expertise that I have been building over the past year has been with ElasticSearch. I have done a lot of work designing our data models in ElasticSearch so that we can get the information we want in the most efficient way possible.Aside from technical contributions, I spend a fair chunk of my time mentoring junior engineers. Beyond instilling them with best practices, I strive to make sure they consider scalability and flexibility, backed by good design principles.
