Following High School, I spent two summers as a Jr. Lifeguard Counselor and Instructor at Campus Point, UCSB. Responsibilities were centered around managing the safety, fitness, morale, and general wellbeing of a group of 50 twelve and thirteen year olds for the entire summer. Led individual and group workouts daily, occasionally traveled to competitions with campers, and regularly mentored campers who struggled mentally or physically within the program. Before each summer session, I was also employed to train the other lifeguards/counselors in several basic EMT skills applicable to beach lifeguarding. Show less
