National Projects and Maintenance is a leading provider of design, project management, and construction and maintenance services for clients in the public and private sector. I am responsible for managing end-to-end finance activities for the group, including but not limited to forecasting and budgeting, accounts payable and receivable, and wider reporting and documentation functions whilst also advising senior leaders on opportunities to streamline and optimise processes. In this role, I also proactively engage a broad range of stakeholders, both internal and external, to negotiate and secure positive outcomes for new contract and tender opportunities. Notable Achievements • Appointed to the NPM Social Committee to coordinate two monthly events for the group. I took the initiative to establish a group chat function with complementary Excel documents and delegated roles for meetings on a fortnightly basis to streamline planning processes. • Established new processes and documentation for bank guarantee and associated processes. This enabled the business to track and monitor pricing. I am currently working on implementing costs into an accounting process to streamline and formalise these processes. • Collaborated with the IT Department to introduce progress claim invoices which enabled Project Managers and clients to track the value of their claims and projects. • Nominated as the Objectives and Key Results (OKR) Champion for the finance team.

I was responsible for a broad range of stakeholder relationship management activities pertaining to treasury and trade finance functions. This included liaising with banks to manage guarantees as well as maintaining internal database systems for guarantees; letters of credit; and credit insurance requirements. My additional responsibilities included managing all bank guarantee processes and documentation; assessing risks throughout tendering processes to safeguard the company’s position; and managing wider financial functions to streamline processes, report on shared services finance, and track and monitor projects, cash flows, and risk exposure.Notable Achievements• Managed an impact analysis on insurance premiums following a premium increase of Insurance Policy. This involved assessing the impact of the premium increase against the risk of not reinsuring, and comparing current premiums against new premiums with insured receivables. • Collaborated with a Project Manager to action next steps with a third-party to determine if a formal claim should be processed for an overdue receivable. I prepared all documentation to process this claim as the company had never previously issued one for an overdue receivable.• Engaged with UK Export Finance on a major contract for Starstreak, to find a trade finance solution enabling a reputable European Bank to issue Thales UK with a bank guarantee.• Stepped up and assumed additional responsibilities as Senior Export and Trade Finance Manager following a colleague’s departure for a three-month secondment opportunity.
