Built from the ashes of my frustration on the status quo, Archash Design Studios took the task of providing me with the knowledge and experience to handle situations without the safety net of being an employee. Effectively started as soon as I passed my Philippine Architectural Licensure exam, the services I rendered range from small drafting tasks to residential projects and even taking on projects as a remote staff. Exteria Street + Park Outfitters (formerly known as Landmark Engineering & Design) has been designing, manufacturing and installing park furniture and structures throughout Western Australia’s streets, sidewalks, beaches and parks since 1999. We offer a full range of designs and materials specifically designed to withstand the rigours of public use.Modus Australia’s has been extensively involved in the supply of public toilet buildings and restrooms for the past 15 years. The company consists of management personal having qualifications in the metal and construction industries together with a supportive team of designers and engineers.As an architectural draftsman and 3D renderer for this company, I have the responsibility of providing the sales team with plans and presentations for the clients interested in our products. Also working directly with the managing directors of the company, I am exposed to the challenge of making sure we provide our clients, who are mainly council members across Australia, with an excellent service.I am also responsible for the production of CAD drawings that are required by the clients for the application of building permits and council approval. During my short stint at Periquet Galicia, I worked with a wonderful team of architects and engineers on an existing high-rise residential project. Under the supervision of the principal architect, we attended weekly update meetings and worked on architectural and engineering plans that were submitted to a team of engineering consultants and project managers that were in-charge of project construction.I also conducted site visits and worked on design adjustments on different interior design construction projects that were handled by a different team of architects before I got on board. This allowed me to gain an interest and appreciation of interior design and interior architecture as a whole.My responsibilities include the following:• Report to the principal architect/interior architect about the status of the ongoing projects• Liaise with the in-house team of architects, engineers and interior designers with the different projects• Attend weekly meetings with a team of architects, engineers, project managers and construction managers and provide them with status updates on any design changes as provided by the principal interior architect• Occasional site visits and supervision of deign construction of several interior projects mainly handled by the principal interior architect

As an architect in MZ & Partners, I was in charge of CAD drafting of several design projects assigned to me by the senior architects. Working with a team of engineer, architects and draftsmen, we handled projects that range from commercial areas to high-rise buildings, a notable project being a an industrial cut and bend industrial building at Mesaid Midmac Contracting, various residential villas and a contributing team player in a number of high-rise buildings.On a day-to-day basis, my tasks are:• Collaboration with a team of architects, engineers and cad drafters on different projects• Reporting to the project architect/s• 3D rendering of residential and commercial projects that needed approval from the design and engineering team

As an architect working for the company, I was tasked with the design and 3D presentations of the different buildings that were going to be integrated on a hotel that was under construction – The Poro Point Hotel in La Union managed by Thunderbird Resorts. Based on the architecture of the island of Santorini in Greece, the team of architects, engineers, interior designers and construction managers that I worked with were basically tasked to handle all of the different aspects of the design process and construction supervision.The team that I was a part of was actually an internally mandated team with the sole purpose of servicing the hotel and casino. My responsibilities enabled me to grow my experience in hospitality, and for a year I lived and breathed the hotel and casino project. I was also tasked to assist on other ongoing projects of the company as well, working with a separate team assigned to the relevant projects.My responsibilities as an architect include:• Design and implementation of schemes to be presented to the principal architect and the board of directors• Collaboration with interior designers in developing the interior architecture of the hotel and casino• Occasional site visits in La Union for project supervision• Assisting architects and interior designers in their designs for the project

Starting out as a remote cad drafting side project, CED Dezign was a company established by a California based architect wanting to expand his architectural practise by building a team of architects/cad drafters in the Philippines. The setup was a really early attempt at remote cad work, and it was a real eye-opening experience for me in terms of international standards and design.In addition to helping the principal architects establish an early structure of the company, CAD drafting and 3D standards, I was assigned the role of ‘Job Captain’ and lead a team of cad drafters reporting to the managing architect. I also spent 3 months of immersion in the US working directly with the principal architect on local projects.In a span of 3 years, I have been exposed to:• Critical experience in establishing a start-up company, the ins and outs of working remotely, and the responsibility of working directly with an architect with international standards• Establishing standards of drafting and 3D that will be followed by a team of cad designers and approved by the managing architect• A unique appreciation on international CAD drafting and design standards• The responsibility of leading a team of cad designers and reporting back to the managing architect and principal architects on a day to day basis

I mainly consider my job in Tribars Construction as my first real exposure to the reality of construction after the design process. On a daily basis, CAD draftsmen such as me would render a number of different options based on the design of the in-house designers approved by the architects.
