  I did my M.Sc.& M.Phil from A.M.U.Aligarh and Ph.D. from the University of Roorkee (Presently I.I.T.Roorkee). I served the Department of Statistics, the University of Kashmir from 1988 to 2014, and has guided thirteen Ph.D. and fifteen M.Phil scholars and published more than 90 research papers in international and national Journals. I am the founder Head, Department of Statistics, University of Kashmir, Srinagar and functioned as the Dean, Faculty of Physical & Material Sciences. I have been a Member of the University Council, Chairman, Board of Studies in Statistics, and a member of various Academic Bodies, University of Kashmir, Srinagar. I have also served Al- Qassim University, Saudi Arabia for two and a half years (Dec.2008 to June 2011) and organized three International Conferences, two Refresher Courses, five Workshops and delivered extension lectures in Academic Staff Colleges and the Departments of several Universities across the country on Research Methodology, Optimization and Statistics Using Software Packages (SPSS and MINITAB). I was at the Asian Institute of Technology Pathumthani, Bangkok, Thailand under MHRD Programme, during Aug.-Dec.-2016.Currently, I am Vice President of Indian Society for Probability & Statistics.
