      I worked at the Generation Development & Management Section of the Islands Network Operation Department of HEDNO S.A., the Greek DSO and the Operator of the Non-Interconnected Island Power Systems (NIIS). During my employment at HEDNO, I have been involved in the implementation of the NIIS Management Code in many fields, some of which are mentioned below: - Proposing improvements, while studying the current practice, of the management of thermal, as well as RES production of NIIS, such as Rhodes, Kos - Kalymnos, Samos, Paros, Limnos, Patmos, etc. For this cause, the results of Day-Ahead Schedules (DAS) for these systems have been used. - NII Power System Planning which is submitted on a yearly basis to the Regulatory Authority of Energy (RAE), the objective of which is the definition of the type and size of the thermal generating units to be installed in a 7 year horizon in each one of the 32 NIIS. - Forecasting on a monthly basis load demand, load peak, RES production (Wind Parks, PV, Biomass, Hydro Plant), thermal production, oil consumption, CO2 emissions, Variable Cost (VC) and Total Cost (TC) of each NIIS. - Emergency Situations Response Plan of NIIS, which was also submitted to RAE. - Methodology of calculating the representation percentage of each Load Representative, as well as the necessary guarantees in order to participate in NIIS Market. I also learned about calibration of measuring equipment, measurements via Data Acquisition LDS - GENESIS, and the software package PERCEPTION which is used for monitoring the testing of the equipment.
