I requested experience in my local pub as I wanted to learn bar work outside of my other job. My hours were irregular but I learnt how to pull pints, serve and take orders. My responsibilities also included cleaning and collecting glasses. I requested experience in my local pub as I wanted to learn bar work outside of my other job. Kitchen Assistant, Porter, Waitress
-
Jul 2017 - Jan 2018
I initially joined this company as a kitchen assistant. However, as time went on, I took the time to train under the porter as I required more hours and wanted to build experience. Upon one of the other porters leaving, I was allowed to take on his role. On busy work days, I would begin by assisting the chefs in food prep and then move onto my porter duties. I multi-tasked throughout the day to best assist in kitchen management. Unfortunately, the business was not doing too well and staff were let go after Christmas. Briefly, I was asked to take on waitress duties for the month of January as they were aware of my previous experience. I resigned from this company when they informed me that the kitchen would be closing. The kitchen reopened in May of this year. Show less

From my course I was put into work experience. I had the fantastic experience of working on photoshoots with several different photographers, and I also have worked backstage for The Rocky Horror Picture Show Ireland stage performance (which I shall hopefully be doing again in October). They always have other opportunities for me to do more. From my course I was put into work experience.
