      I got the opportunity to shadow a General Surgeon and an Obstetrician in The Royal Victoria Hospital. -I was able to observe a lung resection which allowed me to gain knowledge, observe and identify parts of the human anatomy. -In Obstetrics I was allowed to sit in on consultations with patients who were classified as high risk pregnancies; in this placement I was able to develop knowledge of clinical skills as I was able to use the ultrasound machine and gained knowledge about how it works. -Throughout the entire placement I instigated communication with staff and patients, adhered to health, safety and security procedures, observed and collaborated with professional health workers and understood the principles of patient confidentiality and consent.
