At the Environment and Air Quality Division at TTI, I worked in the capacity of a Graduate Research Assistant and later, Assistant Transportation Researcher. Here, I was involved in: - Research on national and international air quality policies and regulations related to measurement of sustainability in the freight transportation sector, and participated in EPA and TxDOT research studies. - Research on the emission impacts from different freight transportation modes to evaluate efficiency of modes of transport. - Writing technical white papers and research grant proposals for the institute. In one such white paper, we conceptualized a framework to develop performance measures for sustainable freight movement in Texas. Show less

As a Research Assistant in the Environmental Engineering department at Texas A&M University, I was involved in: - Ozone impacts studies in Texas using advanced photochemical air quality modeling techniques, a project which was funded by the Texas Air Research Center (TARC). - This research involved customizing the CMAQ model to include source-apportionment capabilities to ultimately determine VOC contributions from different sources to ozone formation rates in Southeast Texas. - The above research was the basis of my graduate MS thesis project, which was published in a top-tier academic research journal.
