  Organisation Description-  Star Paper Mills Ltd. (An ISO-9001 Company, a Duncan Goenka unit) is one of the oldest and largest paper mills in India (estb. 1936). SPM is an integrated Pulp & Paper Mill with installed Capacity of 300TPD and annual Turnover of 300 crore (approx.). Job Profile-  Presently supervising and following the process parameters like temperature, pressure and volume being a shift In-charge in Soda Recovery Department and keep check on quality and maintain them during shift.  Working with a length of shift crew on six effect evaporators, En-mass recovery boiler, Causticizer and lime kiln.  Maintaining shift logs for respective area and equipments.  Troubleshooting in breakdowns and prepare root cause analysis for it.  Coordinating with mechanical maintenance, quality management, electrical and instrumentation department for operations and with civil department for infrastructure issues.  Organizing sampling of various consignments received.  Supporting efforts on special samples and improvement trials wherever relevant.  Providing technical and safety training to subordinates.  Supporting training of new hires.  Ensuring measures such as predictive and preventive maintenance schedules are being implemented and appropriate documentation is being maintained.  Three months training in Soda Recovery, Pulp Mill, Quality Management and Paper Machine Department in first year.  In Pulp Mill, batch-digester pulping, screening, pressing, oxygen delignification of Kraft pulp, and bleaching was studied.  In Quality Management Department, testing of fibrous and non-fibrous consignments received, raw pulp, chemicals used for stock preparation plant, furnished product (paper) were performed.  In Paper Machine Department, paper production of various grades and shades of writing, printing, account book, packaging, and ribbed paper on Fourdrinier Machine was observed and learnt.
