I’ve known Tony for over 10 years. Our initial introduction came when he was working for C2 Records (a sister label of Columbia Records) while he was working as an assistant in the Promotion Department. This was purely a professional acquaintance and ultimately led to a friendship as well. After the merging of the two labels, Tony had shown at the time he was at C2, that the he was capable of expanding his responsibilities and take on more challenges that come with that of a larger label. His addition to Columbia Records added layers of responsibilities to his current skill set and with each new endeavor rose new challenges that Tony rose to accept and master. These challenges ranged from better and more complex communication and follow through, to better time management challenges and the pressures of performance. While holding a position of a greater role in the day to day operation of the department, Tony also helped to carry out ideas and helped create solutions to challenges to our ever changing business and business model. Tony’s handling of these areas helped to propel him to one of our better representatives and ultimately resulted in a number o f promotions. In the music industry, successful people have to be self motivated, passionate, and possess incredible organizational and communication skills. There are many areas that overlap therefore making organization of one’s time and project list extremely important. While it may seem that some project or releases are similar in approach, none ever have the same plan or execution. Being able to think on one’s feet, juggle multiple projects, report information to an array of departments and manage their time is invaluable to this business. These traits carry over to many different jobs and are a key component to Tony’s success at Columbia Records and will ultimately be a key factor in future endeavors.
