Every term, QMUL accepts students to take on real-life consultancy projects. Split into groups, we were given a company who we would consult with over 10 weeks. I lead my team through this journey, being the project coordinator. We specifically looked at market entries and global developments within the specific sector. In our final report we highlighted key developments, competitors and geographical locations for future pursuit. Every term, QMUL accepts students to take on real-life consultancy projects. During my time at Deloitte I was working in the Strategy team, where Supply Chain management was the immediate field of work. I was part of various projects in many different sectors, including factory optimisation and logistics. Some of my tasks involved tracking and evaluating client data, monitoring KPIs and implementation. The projects were scattered across Europe, giving me a broad insight of the field. I mostly worked with Word and Powerpoint, allowing for a more professional presentation of data and reports. The internship was very insightful as these programmes contain many useful tools not incorporated in university learning. Show less

During my work experience at KPMG I was a member of the Corporate Strategy team. Specifically, I worked in the Mobility 2030 team which is focused on assessing strategic options in EV, AV and Mobility as a Service for clients. I contributed to two live projects during my time with the team including a project with a global OEM reviewing future Retail opportunities in Europe. I also helped research and score companies in Excel for another client. I was able to develop transferable skills in both MS PowerPoint and Excel. Whilst also applying my ongoing degree's Business Management learnings to date (e.g. frameworks and hypotheses thinking) to support the team whilst I was working with them. Show less

The role required many skills such as communication, leadership and organisation. Tasks included interacting with guests, serving food and drink, monitoring stock and working closely with other teams. The Hotel team was small, therefore I was also able to experience the reception, learning skills on Opera, as well as Micros.
