- Offer the variety of First Steps services to students attending both universities in Nottingham.- Provide a safe and confidential environment for students to discuss their eating disorders- Co-ordinate and arrange support groups, peer support, counselling and befriending for students- Promote and raise awareness within both universities at Nottingham- Manage volunteering opportunities and ensure volunteers receive quality training and CPD support- Update, review and add to First Steps EDISS social media pagesHaving volunteered with B-eat as a group facilitator and lead research in Eating Disorders at University,I am very much immersed in this area of mental health. I am devoted to helping people who are going through this or people seeing someone close to them experiencing this.My role at First Steps Nottingham is quite varied. I am the main lead on the Eating Disorders In Students Service Project, whilst also playing the key role in the management of volunteer opportunities for individuals wishing to volunteer in the Nottingham area. I am also involved in raising awareness and ensuring academics, health professionals, students, university wardens and anyone else wanting to hear are aware of eating disorder signs, symptoms, communication and effects. I am extremely passionate about providing an accessible service for all students and creating an environment for students to feel safe when seeking help with their eating disorder.
