Thoroughly enjoyable experience working with the team at The Other Art Fair assisting with their most recent fair at Victoria House, London. A fair featuring 120 emerging artists, I acted as a liaison between the team and the artists and worked on customer service at the front desk and as a point of information throughout. Being an intern was definitely far different from what I expected. I was not expected to make endless cups of tea, not led into following everyone’s footsteps or photocopying and completing dead-end jobs. At Optillion I not only attended meetings with clients, experiencing first-hand the formalities of how Optillion worked with companies, I was given the opportunity to write blogs, website content, Meta descriptions and Ad Words, each of which were published online. Some may think that an art history degree and marketing do not go together. The audience however is the same, the visual impact of art or a website is crucial and highly influential. I therefore used what I had learnt in my first two years at university to adapt to impacting the perception of a target audience. Show less

I supported the president and I was responsible for general administration of the Club and for the procurement of all equipment and kit. Being in charge of kit during the university’s sport re-brand meant that I had to maintain communication with Kukri to ensure all our needs were met. This was a time-consuming and demanding job which challenged but further improved my organisation skills. As the Ultimate Frisbee Nu2 Sport representative I also had to market and promote our sport within the university and attend our open session to teach beginners. Show less

A truly invaluable experience aiding the organisation and set up of the stall for 'Strachan Fine Art' and assisting on three days of the event. An expert in their fields each of the dealers gave me a constructive insight into art dealing in the UK. Art dealing is not only about having an inherent interest in the subject but also having an extensive compilation of research that allows one to gain the trust of a customer and sell convincingly.
