  Position objectives as executive member of NFC management services in East Africa. Fulfil a critical leadership and management role to develop and grow the business of the NFC’s group of companies and its subsidiaries by being the company’s most senior forestry manager. • Overall responsibility for the successful implementation of the group’s forestry related strategic objectives and operational aspects through the implementation, delivery, maintenance and completion of all major business programs and management processes and procedures including APOs and budgets.• Provide critical leadership and performance management of a team of expatriates and local employees in NFC’s eastern and southern African operations.• Reporting into me are the Group SHEQ and Group Planning profiles as well as the territory Forestry Managers on a matrix reporting system..• Strategic management of all forestry operations ie silviculture, harvesting within the countries of operation.• Forestry P&L responsibility.• Develop strategic plans, tactical plans and annual plans of operations and monitor performance against these plans.• Lead the management and compliance to established business plans and budgets as well as legal requirements and develop performance management systems to monitor and measure success. • Ensure continued compliance to FSC towards retaining FSC certification and achieving FSC certification in other plantations/territories.• Policy making as key member of management team. Advise regularly the CEO to identify, assess, measure and monitor major business risks and build into the management systems/processes the mitigation measures as required.• Implementing Integrated Management Systems and best operating forestry practices. • Training and development.• Frequently leading due diligence exercises for investment purposes.
