At Kongats, after another architect quit, I was quickly put in charge of completing the construction drawing package and overseeing the construction of the Judith and Norman Alix Art Gallery in Sarnia. The office was run by a small team so we all had to be nimble and adept in all aspects of architecture. I worked extensively on everything from concept design to construction documents and from feasibility studies to contract administration. NOTABLE PROJECTS: Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery (Completed) 2010-2011 | Sarnia, Ontario | 1,353m2 | Addition and Renovation | Team = 4 I acted as the contract administrator and project coordinator under the supervision of Alar Kongats for this Design-Build category A art gallery. I was responsible for the exterior envelop construction details and drawings, millwork drawings, interior design, wayfinding and signage, and presentation renders. Tartu College Student Residence Phase 1 and 2 (Phase 2 completion: August 2014) 2012-2014 | Toronto, Ontario | GFA = 721m2 | Interior Renovation | Team = 2 I was project manager from Schematic Design to Project closeout including construction drawings and specifications, contract administration and project coordination during construction. The four top floors of the building were gutted to the exterior envelope, properly insulated and then rebuilt with a completely new interior layout that included a full set of custom millwork for the student dorms and new bathrooms. Throughout the process I worked closely with the client, contractor, and millworker to ensure the best possible results. Foundry District Energy Centre (On hold) 2010 | Toronto, Ontario | GFA = 1,206m2 | Renovation | Team = 4 The renovation and conversion of a Heritage Building into a district energy centre for the surrounding neighbourhood. I worked closely with a team of 4 on the schematic, design development, permit and construction drawing sets and was responsible for the renders.

A design partnership started with a colleague while studying architecture at the University of Toronto. The practice was a way for us to explore all aspects of design including architecture, product design, furniture and public art. During the time that we ran the practice, we successfully completed two home renovations, designed a number of products that were exhibited in various shows, were finalist for two public art pieces in Toronto and won the Canadian Interiors Design of the year award for our Stalac table. NOTABLE PROJECTS: Dunn House (completed) 2012-2014 | Toronto, Ontario | 229sqm | Team = 3 Addition and Interior renovation involving the complete gutting and underpinning of the house and the design of custom millwork throughout. Eden House (completed) 2010-2011 | Mississauga, Ontario | 51sqm | Team = 3 Demolition of existing second floor and addition of new second floor including the design of custom millwork.

MDCN (Mobile Digital Commons Network): a 2 year multi-disciplinary research project headed by professor Michael Longford out of Concordia University. I was in charge of 3D visualizations and product designs for multiple aspects of the project from early days augmented reality to physical housing for environmental data collectors that could be installed around the city and provide us with information on ambient noise, weather patterns and foot traffic. This information could then be used to generate off site, data driven art.
