Subject: "optimization and improvement of the new bioprinting generation" Poietis is a biotechnology company specialized in laser-assisted bioprinting. With its single-cell bioprinting technology, Poietis develops a full-thickness bioprinted skin model, intended for academic research as well as for cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. In the long run, this model will be improved for clinical issues. The next generation of bioprinter (NGB 17.03) developed by Poietis has been made for the production of skin model (first prototype destiny to the production). The goals of my internship are to find user parameters, to make operational and functional the new generation of bio-printer for the product team. The optimization of the new bioprinter gives the way to a better control of the process chain of bio-printed skin. Moreover, another goal is to define and improve industrial process of the bio-printer, in compliance with the product team criteria. Show less

Subject: "Stress response in Escherichia coli: assumption of pulsing response" The evolution of the living system entailed fearsome survival strategies. When facing hostile environments, a colony of bacteria survives even if most of it dies and a new colony is bred. One of these strategies called bet-hedging is studied on Escherischia coli. My work aims at showing that bacteria have a pulsing response when stressed and at understanding the consequences of those pulses. The goal of such researches is to understand the evolution of the mechanisms linked to bacteria resistance and their strategies of defence in order to block them efficiently. Missions: - Acquisition of fluorescence images DATA with the fluorescence microscopy technique (time laps measurement) - Bacteria samples' preparation in a sterile environment and selection of the bacterial colonies of interest (streak technique) - PDMS microfluidic device made, measure on single Cell - Short model of the genes/proteins interaction system on Matlab. I worked in Tresse Industrie's laboratory and performed several missions: - Measurement on the effectiveness of shielding sheaths made by the company Tresse Industrie. - Development of flammability test such as oxygen index. It is a standard procedure and quantify the fire resistance of the objects tested .
