As a Marine F/A 18 mechanic I had the priveledge to work as an O & I level mechanic. As an "O" level mechanic I became a certified inspector and led teams in the maintenance of the jets. I also became certified to test the F/A 18's while on the ground. This included sitting in the cockpit and starting the engines and testing them fully. As an "I" level mechanic I worked on the engine and ran a crew of 20 marines, seaman and civilians in repairing the High Pressure Compressor.
