⦁ Producing concepts, designs, BOMs and manufacturing drawings for the Lab equipment and related parts such as autoclaves, incubators, endoscope storage cabinates and enviromemt rooms. Drawings typically include assemblys, sheet metal and machined parts. Software package used is Solidowrks ⦁ Making modifications to existing parts when issues are reported. This would require completing a change note to resolve issue and corrective action to detail how this would not happen again. ⦁ Checking the drawings of cellegues to ensure the standards set by LTE are met. ⦁ Ensuring parts that are designed by myself and collegues are suitable for manufacture. LTE uses an Amada Press brake and turret punch. Parts must be designed withing the tooling capability and must not take too long to produce. ⦁ Working with project managers, pipe fitters and installation teams to ensure products designs are suitable to be succesfully installed. This includes producing layour drawings to demonstraight room layouts to customers. ⦁ I designed a frame and trey for a set of vials to be placed inside an autoclave. This had to be designed so vials could stand up and any liquid would drain off. ⦁ I have also undertaken practical engineer work, overseeing the installation of panels surrounding autoclaves. ⦁ Key worker during the Coronavirus epidemic, continuing to design parts related to the production of autoclaves used in NHS facilities. • Cataloguing existing Solidworks files to ensure all original part designs are easily accessible and up to date with correct drawings and information. If necessary, re-modelling missing designs. • Converting 2D drawing into 3D models and developing simple and complex assemblies for EMTEK services (airport ground support services). • Creating kits used by design engineers to build curtain sided straight frame trailers. • Cataloguing existing Solidworks files to ensure all original part designs are easily accessible and up to date with correct drawings and information. During this experience I worked closely with the CAD draughters responsible for analysing ductwork layout designs. I assisted with constructing plans into a set of drawings that can be used for manufacturing. I gained a good understanding of Autocad2D during this process. • Working with the reactive maintenance engineering team ensuring that the plant was functioning correctly and the production line always continued to run maximizing the factory output. I was heavily involved in the replacement and maintaining of any mixing equipment or production line machinery i.e. pumps, mixing vessels, piping and instrumentation and assembly lines. • Project management role which entailed finding alternative solutions to deficiencies with the factory. For example recommending using a different method for heating a mixing vessel which required changing a manual handling valve for a solenoid actuator valve. • Involved with an “Overall Equipment Effectiveness Project” which covered the thermoplastic road marking production area. The objective of this exercise was to closely monitor this area for a set number of weeks and note all of the reasons production was not running. This information was presented to production managers and executives to display where the most money was lost. Show less
