Anthony is an extremely capable and dedicated senior executive - he is highly recommended. In addition he is a respected and strong advocate of the Horticulture NZ industry and was a proactive board member of Tomatoes NZ Inc. Anthony has a real strategic think outside the box approach to his work and was always pushing the boundaries and seeking ways to collaborate across industry product groups for the betterment of the industry. I recommend Anthony to any future employer and I am happy to give him a reference.

Anthony is a natural leader who is driven to succeed, both individually and as a business. He is passionate about his team and their individual success. He truly understands and demonstrates strength in collaboration across a broad range of people and business units and has gained the full respect of his team, suppliers, colleagues (close and wide) and customers. I look forward to keeping in contact and watching Anthony grow as he embarks on new challenges.

In this position, as General Manager of the Covered Crops division, I was accountable for the profit and loss budget, supervising a total of 340 staff and for managing resources that amounted to 20,000 tonnes. Led, acquired and spurred the growth of Beekist, one of New Zealand’s leading produce brands. Supervised efforts pertaining to product improvements. Eliminated in excess of 100 tonnes of plastic from packaging so as to promote and boost environmental sustainability. Introduced single crops to increase efficiency levels of both labour and yield. Monitored crop growth across 28 hectares of glasshouses at 5 different sites so as to evaluate value-added growth and crop efficiency. Other responsibilities included: • Led the acquisition and integration of two competitors as the designated lead of Project Bigfoot. • Mentoring a team to help them cope with the challenges associated with organisational transition. • Boosting overall organisation morale and motivating the team to develop resilience when faced with difficult changes. Key Achievements: • Obtained funding for NZ $28 million for two business acquisitions. • Maximised market share levels by implementing innovative packaging and showcasing Beekist packaging and artwork.

    • General Manager Sales - Australasia
      • Mar 2013 - Feb 2014

In this position, I was responsible for overseeing the profit and loss margins, 75 franchised retail stores, and business development across multiple channels for New Zealand, Australia and included the United States. Carried out a market study and introduced a refreshed concept store for the New Zealand Natural franchise. Introduced New Zealand Natural ice cream to grocery stores across both New Zealand and Australia which boosted market share and sales substantially. Revamped the existing distribution model in New Zealand and reduced the number of distributors from 50 plus to under 10. Other responsibilities included: • Collaborating with Unilever so as to boost sales and market share by supplying one stick and scoop ice cream brand. Key Achievements: • Increased sales by 150% over three years after streamlining the organisation’s operations and lowering the number of distributors. • Discovering a weakness in our portfolio of not having stick ice cream sales and took the initiative to improve sales. • Negotiating terms with Bidfood so as to become the preferred supplier of ice cream to this food wholesaler. As a result, organisational production increased while incurring minimal costs that significantly eroded a key competitors sales.
