    • Director of Logistics & Operations
      • Feb 2020 - Present

•Coordinates logistics operations for over 300 drivers, across 11 cities throughout Eastern Tennessee and North Georgia, while improving client satisfaction & efficiency through data analysis and coaching. •Guides dispatch team to analyze data effectively, locate patterns to identify breakdowns/bottlenecks, & minimize labor costs through effective routing of drivers and ad hoc schedule modifications. •Championed an overhaul of the recruiting & onboarding process for new team members to increase retention rates and minimize cost per hire. This process utilized my extensive understanding of screening tactics which created an upward trend in the quality of our talent pool. Further enhanced by a thorough review of our new driver training, the results yielded an overall increase of new-driver retention of approximately 20%, while reducing by more than a quarter the number of new-driver issues (i.e. late deliveries & customer complaints). •Solicits winning strategies to Customer Service team, which has produced 10%+ decrease in volume of client communiques which require resolution. This efficiency increase has allowed the business to cut overtime expenses entirely from the CSR labor budget, while driving organic new customer acquisition, and allowing me to reallocate a portion of those funds towards a mission which meets a personal mantra of sustainability and environmental preservation through recycling programs, retrofitting of office spaces and equipment to increase energy efficiency, incentive programs for employee carpooling, and other initiatives. • The Historic Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel
    • Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States
    • Guest Services Supervisor
      • Aug 2015 - Jul 2017

Here I was given the privilege of leading the guest services team at the internationally recognized Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel, a historic resort-style property sprawling across 25 acres in the heart of downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee. Nestled in the revived Southside district, the property then featured 363 rooms, including 14 suites and 3 dozen restored vintage boxcars restored into premium family accommodations, 2 pools, a classic Victorian era lounge, popular community music venue Track29 which hosts just over 1,000 patrons, several boutique-style shops and artisan eateries, and countless historic points of interest which capture the intrigue of children and history enthusiasts alike. From this experience I was introduced to core concepts of the hospitality industry, and was thrilled to put my marketing skills to use in ensuring maximum room revenue by diversely cross-promoting our property through a variety of online & print platforms. Worked directly with the sales department to ensure that groups who booked the property for conventions and gatherings were completely engrossed with the luxe amenities of the property. Performed concierge services for the hotel guests, and ensured that our staff was well-versed in the amenities of the community, particularly reinforcing strategic partnerships I negotiated with local attractions, vendors, and eateries whose affiliation ultimately backchanneled into savings and/or residual incomes for the hotel. Coached reservations team to upsell and identify opportunities to increase hotel revenue during bookings. Ensured that the front desk team performed their duties in a way that spread smiles while adhering to the privacy standards and cash-management protocols of the property. Reviewed guest folios to guarantee that billings were applied correctly and no room revenue opportunities were missed. Worked closely with guests and alternate department heads alike to resolve all guest concerns quickly and efficiently. Show less

      • Mar 2009 - Aug 2014

Sales, Customer Service, and P&L Management: creation of new customer leads and utilization of CRM technology to drive sales and identify previously unrecognized client trends. Utilized logistics training to drive down costs of highly variable commodities (i.e. Labor & Fuel). Conducted risk assessments for potential liabilities and assured that appropriate safeguards and insurance coverages were active and appropriately assigned. OSHA & ANSI Compliance assurance; fleet management for vehicles and rental equipment , including records keeping for annual inspections of federally required and/or high liability items. Conducted frequent internal audits to assess risk versus profit, ROI, purchasing projections and more. Implemented inventory systems to allow tracking of commodities previously ignored as consumables. Increased profitability by almost 10% through procedures implementation, training, follow-up, and regular inventory of consumables, such as shop towels, lubricants, fuels, cleaners, and other controllable expenses. Also saw drastic reduction in loss and equipment "down-time" when transitioning to quarterly mass inventory versus annual. Lead marketing initiatives for the business, primarily injecting the company into strategically selected sectors of the market using rich media forms to replace previously used methods. Transitioned business exposure into the digital age and introduced social media management and SEO optimization as cornerstones of outreach. Created vivid, unique commercials and radio ads which were hand crafted to meet the seasonally changing sales objectives of the company. Networked with local media professionals to ensure that only the highest quality content reached our desired demographic across the Scenic City and Southeast Tennessee. Show less

Starting as a mere cashier, this was my first endeavor in the working world. From age 16, I immediately began absorbing best practices in the field from members of the leadership team and applying them to my work. In little time I was selected to join the management team, and through the continued application of strong leadership and dedication to promoting next-level customer service with my team, I ascended to the role of RGM, and was later cycled to the most destressed of locations in the market to implement the same winning team-building, training and retention, and P&L management skills that brought my first unit to constantly rank in the top 5 performing units in the market. It was here that I was first introduced to even the most basic of skills. Those fundamentals include scheduling, labor management, best hiring practices, onboarding and training, inventory controls, cash management, facilities upkeep, conflict resolution, and was able to see firsthand how all of these factors combine to create real flow through results in the form of the location's P&L.
