Soils and Nurients Project Officer

Working on the Farm Environment Link Project, I advised farmers and landowners on all aspects of soils and nutrients, including run off and erosion management, water and energy management, best practice and environmental stewardship schemes, as well as liasing closely with organisations such as the Environment Agency. Organising workshops and presentations on various aspects of land management was also a large part of the job. The Farm Environment Link Project won first prize in the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management Best Practice Awards.

Students Union President

I was elected by the student body as their representative and co-opted onto the Board of Governors, Academic Board, Academic Standards and Plagiarism Committee. I was responsible for the 14 members of the Students Union Executive and the Students Union finances. The role also involved organising entertainments and sports for 1,900 students and ensuring their experience of higher education at Harper Adams was a positive one.
