    • Sabbatical - A Wandering US Bicycle Tour
      • May 2022 - Dec 2022

I went on a 6,500+ mile solo bicycle tour starting in Hartford, CT, first heading to the Midwest, back to the East Coast south to Key West, FL, and then up the Gulf Coast to Tallahassee, FL and then New Orleans. From New Orleans I took Amtrak up to Champaign-Urbana, IL. The final two days of the bike tour were from Urbana, IL to Indianapolis, IN where I'll be living and working, closer to family. • Transport Hartford Academy & BiCi Co. at Center for Latino Progress
      • Jul 2015 - May 2022

BiCi Co. is a community bicycle shop in Hartford that I co-founded as a program at the Center for Latino Progress in June 2015 with Yanil Teron, the executive director. The program grew from a summer teen internship program to a fully functioning bike shop, social enterprise, and suite of community focused, bicycle-based programming, workshops, and do-it-yourself hours. www.bicico.org The Transport Hartford Academy is the Center for Latino Progress’s newest program. It aims to deepen resident engagement and create a group of active and informed residents who will shape future transportation developments in the Hartford region. Transport Hartford advocates for biking, walking, transit, and multi-modal transportation as part of a sustainable and socially just region. For Hartford to succeed and grow, it has to move beyond single occupancy vehicle travel both culturally and with well designed infrastructure. Show less
