  Instrument Operator: Conduct experimental research and development on next generation DNA sequencers utilizing solid state nano-detectors in electrical detection of DNA for human genomics. Laboratory duties include: Protocol development with collaboration with software development in Titan systems to improve sample runs and increase average molecule length (continuous flow rate, unclog levels). Reagent buffer batch making of caustic cleaning reagents, and sample run reagents. Sample degradation studies of time elapse sample reagent with standard lambda phage qualifying samples. Systems maintenance of multiple Titan sequencers involving troubleshooting modules for mechanical and electrical problems; general cleaning of reagent salt build-up and robot calibration positioning; Hamilton NIMBUS reagent delivery systems for sample runs using Hamilton software. Experimental detector preparation by bonding wafer multi-nanochannel DIE to chips and wire-bonding padded connections.   Lab Assistant, Cytology and Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory: Executed experimental studies for clinical data to the solution for unsatisfactory cytological results of a pap screen. Performed the following experiments for this study: Cell clumping remediation (ECM proteins (poly-L-lysine, Fibrinogen, Albumin), pH based solvents, salts. Cellular wash methods (various titrations and dilution series of acids/bases in wash solutions), Solubilizing lubricants in GYN samples (Salt solutions, Temperature based experiments), PBMC isolation- peripheral blood mononuclear cell (Isolating RBC’s WBC’s (lymphocytes) and plasma from blood samples (centrifuging, micropippeting) and Time elapse pH study on precipitation buildup of acidification (Glacial Acetic Acid in preservcyt solution). Other Cytology lab duties included: Creating dilution series of samples, sample pooling, Preservcyt (UNSAT work required washing with centrifugation). Allocation of ThinPrep vials according to pathology diagnosis in vial triage room, weigh vials for test analysis. Prepared cytological slides for staining and cover slipping by operating the following Sakura stainers (Tissue Tek Glas, DRS-2000 and DRS-601) and Leica XL stainer and Sakura Tissue-Tek SCA cover slipper.
