Lead Software Engineer

• Technical Lead on military projects for all RHNs. Utilized experience with Java, Python, Scala, Solr, JavaScript, HTML, Linux, and networking to guide 8 engineers in our efforts to resuscitate Mission Management. Implemented workflows, status meetings, documentation and sprints with Jira, Trello, and Git to provide structure and consistency to the project. Received Secret Clearance in order to freely travel to base(s) and deploy upgrades to the systems at the RHN. Communicated directly with leadership at the RHN and the GAIT office to facilitate further enhancements to the solutions we provided. • Utilized React, Jest, React Testing Library, and Material-UI to modernize a Flash Player product for ATT's Technical Support Divison. • Implemented custom web application widgets with Vue.js, React, and custom JavaScript to provide our legacy Scala, Jython, and Solr based platform with solutions it was unable to support. • Created device monitoring and manipulation scripts in Jython for satellites, servers, and numerous military vehicles and equipment. • Learned Scala to integrate our product, Sherpa, with Remedy in 8 weeks, original project timeline was 12 weeks. • Fostered relationships with Commercial clients, Military leadership and personnel, and large-scale Contractors on behalf of CodeMettle. • Supervised a team of 6 engineers across 4 projects. Responsible for code reviews, workloads, mentorship, and general HR requests.

Senior Software Engineer

• Refactored part of our legacy software with Laravel to show how we could reduce code repetition, increase API performance by 860%, and reduce complex engineering tasks by up to 300%. VP of Engineering chose to pursue the implementation of Laravel over Rails and Express.• Optimized and modernized a large-scale enterprise retail planning web application, Merchlogix, for The Home Depot. Created and implemented custom libraries, plugins, and frameworks for engineers to utilize throughout the system in PHP, JS, jQuery, Handlebars, Perl, XML, and JSON. Engineering performance increased by 500% and 200,000+ lines of code were removed from the legacy software.• Helped create and improve a custom MVC framework for our engineers. Created a jQuery plugin to serve as our controller library. Optimized and maintained server-side PHP models, views, and libraries.• Lead over 25 statements of work and internal efforts as the full stack technical lead. Guided projects through full software development process, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, implementation, testing, documentation, and support in Agile and Waterfall development environments.• On-call team member for 2 years. Supported production servers with 99.95% up-time SLAs 24/7. Responsible for fixing any potential issue within 30 minutes of the alert without assistance. We used PagerDuty and Datadog to monitor and transmit alerts. Fixed over 50 issues with no SLA violations.• Lead consultant on coding guidelines and best practices. Assisted in defining and implementing rules for our linters and git commit hooks.
