Andrea Lampros

With great enthusiasm, I recommend Anshu Gupta. Anshu worked at the Human Rights Center Investigations Lab at UC Berkeley while completing her LLM at Berkeley Law. In particular, Anshu led a team of students working with Reuters on an investigation of hate speech on the Facebook platform. Anshu's work was extraordinary in three key ways: She organized and prepared a team of students to complete challenging work; conducted the research herself using advanced open source research methods and her background in law; and served as a liaison to our partner. The work ultimately contributed to a Pulitzer Prize winning story in 2018. In addition to this work, Anshu contributed in myriad ways to the open source investigative work at the center. She brought advanced law skills, analytic capacity, an aptitude for learning tech tools, and most importantly, a vibrant, positive attitude. Anshu greatly contributed to creating community among students, staff, and faculty at our Berkeley lab and was both respected and appreciated by all who worked with her. I felt grateful to work with someone who could bring both expertise and heart to her work. Sincerely, Andrea Lampros

Anand Prakash Mishra (Jindal Global Law School)

Anshu Gupta is one of the brightest young lawyers who ever worked with me in the law school admissions outreach office. Armed with a master's degree in law from UC Berkeley she came as a strongly persuasive, patient and knowledgeable professional when it came to counseling young law graduates to study LLM at Jindal Global Law School. Anshu played a leadership role in taking our Residential LLM class of 80 students with 4 specialisations in 2018 to make it an LLM class of over 350 students in 8 unique specialisations. She has done good work academically in the human rights field and I wish her all the very best for her future.
