  As member of the department Diversity in Education Research, I am currently involved in the longitudinal MEZ-Project (MEZ is a German acronym for "Mehrsprachigkeit im Zeitverlauf", i.e. Multilingualism over time), in which the language development of a large sample of multilingual adolescents has been followed and data has been collected with six measurement points. My PhD is about the relationships between emotional well-being and multilingualism, and the role of family belonging.

  Over 2000 schools in the US, 100 schools in the UK, 1 school in South-Africa and 6 schools in the Netherlands are working with this program. It is expected that these numbers will grow even more. We investigate the potential of and need for this program in (Northern-)Germany.

Together with Prof. Dr. Paul Leseman, Prof. Dr. Elma Blom, and Dr. Sarah McMonagle, we made an article out of the master thesis and published this.
