I have been Annika’s co-worker as an Academic Coach for Walden University’s MHA TEMPO program, a competency-based education approach to online learning. She was the first Academic Coach when the program was launched in May 2016. Starting in July 2016, I valued the hard work that Annika put in as a trailblazer, as well as her advice and help training me in my new role. She is exactly they confident, caring type of person you want on your team as a new employee. 14 months later, I still find Annika indispensable to the team. She has a passion to help the students and actively coaches them to success. She also has an innovative approach to her job, always looking at the role through a technology-focused lens. Instead of working harder, how can we work smarter, using technology to not only improve our productively but also make a positive impact on the students? This is the question that she uses to challenge existing norms and avoid complacency. I know go-getter sounds cliché, but Annika is truly that. Put her with a good team and let her loose on a challenge and look out!
