Annie was a top performer during her six-month Fellowship at MassCEC. She shows a strong understanding of the challenges an organization faces and always takes initiative to address those challenges. Her positive attitude, idealism, and enthusiasm make her a pleasure to work with. Despite a low-key demeanor, she is fearless about carrying out both professional assignments and personal plans. I would highly recommend her to future employers.

Annie is without a doubt an increidibly hardworking, incredibly bright employee to work with. She can take on leadership, and with that she can train, guide and mentor other employees so they can better themselves and learn from her. Working with her throughout the summer, there was never a second of doubt when trusting Annie with part of the campaign. Annie was one of our top Field Managers, consistently beating her own goals, and going above and beyond the standards we intially had set in place for our employees to strive towards. All in all, Annie is a great employee, but also a genuinely great person to work with.

I work in various water projects, including wastewater, drinking water, and stormwater, for local municipal clients. Most of my time is devoted to MS4 (stormwater) permitting compliance efforts, which involves sampling programs, submitting reports to EPA/MassDEP, and GIS/mapping work and analysis.Additionally, I work as a field geologist examining soil samples from roadway geotechnical borings and drinking water exploration borings. I also help identify areas of Town to drill for aquifer material and later help permit new drinking water sources.I also work on watershed-wide planning documents surrounding the role stormwater can play in decreasing nutrient loading on rivers, for example in the Charles River Watershed. Depending on the time of year, a significant portion of my time is spent in the field.

Received grant to work in Dr. Samuel Munoz’s Earth Surface Systems Lab studying Paleoflood Hydrology. I traveled to Eastern Texas to help extract sediment cores from oxbow lakes that were affected by the 2017 Hurricane Harvey flooding. Back in Massachusetts, we conducted a particle size analysis and used radiometric dating to help construct the region's paleoflood record to better contextualize Hurricane Harvey's flooding. I worked on a project studying eco-tourism and tourism-based development models in the Quintana Roo Peninsula of Mexico. This work involved running statistical analyses on interview data.Additionally, I used GIS to help identify unpermitted developments in mangroves as part of a larger effort to litigate illegal developers. I spent a summer canvassing door-to-door to fundraise and gather petitions on the “No Bees No Food” campaign. A couple weeks into the job, I started managing and training other canvassers and coordinating our daily routes. I was the top fundraiser in the Portland office that summer.
