  Working as a student athlete, I had many 6am shifts of guarding open swims before classes would start. I also worked weekend pool parties in which we guarded up to 100 kids at a time making sure the area was safe. I often had to bandage wounds or jump in to help a child in need. Our other duties included sweeping, mopping and setting up the party area. Making sure the parents and adults had everything they needed was also an important part of my job.
