I completed my DONA certified birth doula training workshop in February of 2018. I am currently accepting clients as I work towards my doula certification. I am available as a birth companion, helping to guide the laboring individual with the experience they are hoping for. I am trained in pain management techniques, comfort measures, and alternate pushing positions. I am also available to help guide the birth partner in which ways they can be most effective and supportive. I am passionate about this field and am looking forward to a midlife career expansion and making a difference. Show less

    • Child Hunger and Outreach Programs Coordinator
      • Nov 2018 - Oct 2021

As Child Hunger and Outreach Programs Coordinator, I am responsible for developing and managing child hunger initiatives including the Weekend Back Pack Food for Kids Program, CACFP - after school feeding program, and SFSP - summer feeding, as well as the CSFP - monthly supplemental food boxes for low-income seniors via the USDA. I perform an administrative role between programs and program sponsors, connecting resources to communities, and overseeing compliance. I am working towards becoming a knowledgeable advocate, with the goal of implementing hunger initiative programs in low-income areas, and promoting growth of these programs through building and maintaining relationships with new and existing community partners. • R1 RCM
    • Evansville, Indiana
    • Financial Services Representative
      • Nov 2014 - Nov 2018

Originally a part of the St. Mary's Urgent Care and DME billing team, I was hired into R1 RCM when they took over the processes for which we were responsible. I specialized in the Self Pay A/R, balancing our sites' payments to their systems, investigating past due accounts, updating and retroactively billing insurance when possible, seeking out those whose situations indicated presumptive eligibility for the Charity Care program, encouraging application to the St Vincent Health Financial Assistance program, and processing payments and payment arrangements. If these options were unsuccessful, I did work closely with an outside collection service in the hopes of helping each patient and responsible party settle their accounts to the best of their ability. I claimed the grill as my position during the rushes, thriving on the fast paced environment as well as the fun. I loved talking with the customers, making sure that they were satisfied, and that their needs were met. Eventually, I was able to set up and operate The Granola Jar booths at local farmers markets. The opportunity to get out and speak with the public and promote my amazing employer was very exciting and enjoyable. I put my heart and soul into The Body Shop, a corporation whose values and ideals I share so passionately. Starting as seasonal help right out of high school, I was hired on permanently as a key holder in the Evansville store. After the closing of that location I signed on as a representative of The Body Shop @ Home, a direct sales arm of the company, in order to continue supporting the vision of a cruelty free, and fair trade beauty / self-care industry. After moving to Austin TX I immediately sought out a store front location and was hired on as a part time assistant manager. I was able to assist at both Austin locations, opening and closing the store, doing daily register checks and paperwork, but also sharing the amazing message of acceptance and world responsibility in a retail environment. The founder of the company, Anita Roddick, is one of my personal heroes, and I consider it a highlight of my professional and personal life that I was able to meet her after a speaking engagement in Evansville prior to her passing. I was happy to represent her message in my own little way. Show less

Pennylane is a unique place and my experience here was just as special. I opened and closed the coffee shop, taking care of customers, paperwork, dirty work, etc, but I also enjoyed contributing to the experience. I was the daily face behind the counter and in the years since I have had many strangers walk up to me, knowing my name and my smile, while I knew only that they ordered a short skinny latte around 9 every morning.
