Since 1988, the Arlington Food Assistance Center remains dedicated to its simple but critical mission of obtaining and distributing groceries, directly and free of charge, to people living in Arlington, VA, who cannot afford to purchase enough food to meet their basic needs.

As a research assistant for the William J. Perry Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies, a center under the Department of Defense, I assisted faculty and professional staff with long- and short-term research projects related to security and defense in the Americas. As a student ambassador at the Elon University Student Professional Development Center I was tasked with a number of responsibilities. During my tenure, I successfully established a marketing campaign to advertise the bi-annual Job and Internship Expo, I created visual maps on Google maps which showcase the locations where recent graduates have been employed, and on a regular basis I engaged professionally with employers, peers, faculty and staff. As an intern at Full Belly Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing life saving resources to impoverished communities throughout the world I was responsible for researching and applying for grants that funded the internal development of our organization, as well as supervised a team of four, which included the CEO and a member of the Board of Trustees. By the end of my three-month tenure, we received a $31,0000 grant from the The Conservation Food and Health Foundation.
