The Space / WIRED Creative Fellow
-
Jul 2015 - Jul 2016
Annette Mees was awarded on of the inaugural The Space/WIRED Creative Fellowship. During her fellowship she explored future forecasting, speculative fiction and the interaction between fiction and the arts. The future is the ultimate public space, something we all have a stake in and seek to be part of. But it is also a fictional place – it doesn’t yet exist. Annette specialises in how art and artists can collaborate with scientists and specialists in creating diverse versions of possible futures. Among other things she worked on Future Assembly; a UK-wide project brings together teens and over-65s, to explore the Future they would like to exist 50 years from now. Collectively over 100 collaborators creates a Manifesto for the the Future.Future Assemblies brought creative processes and a fiercely optimistic attitude to future foresighting. This project was developed within The Space/WIRED Creative Fellowship
