Musikhuset København presents classical and contemporary music in what was the Royal Copenhagen Shooting Company's mansion. Built in 1782, the mansion on Vesterbrogade 59, audiences can also experience acoustic concerts with folk music and jazz, dance, art and poetry. The mansion houses three concert halls and a black box and offers rehearsal rooms and office spaces for orchestras, ensembles, soloists, composers, festivals and music organisations. Musikhuset København was created on the initiative of a number of musicians and is run as an association open to all members. The City of Copenhagen and a number of foundations support the operation financially. Show less

-
Coordinator & Editor
-
Apr 2011 - Dec 2018
BAT: Bridging Art + Text is a workshop, seminar and publication platform initiated to develop and inspire Scandinavian art and cultural institutions by questioning the notion of cultural identities, which are possibly not formed by one unified existence but by many. BAT is curated by visual artist Michelle Eistrup and includes artists, curators and writers based in Europe, South America, the Caribbean and Africa. The book BAT: Bridging Art + Text presents contemporary art and fiction and shows how colonialism, racism, spirituality and politics interconnect and create an international context, which the art works engage with in a both critical and personal way.
