  My thesis was undertaken to contribute to the development of methods of systematic reviews within the context of the Cochrane Collaboration. It elaborates on all ingredients of systematic reviews. All but one chapter evaluated methods for diagnostic test accuracy reviews, as for this subject empirical studies are rare compared to empirical foundation of effectiveness reviews.
