I have written news, arts and cultural reviews, book reviews/author interviews intermittently as a freelancer over the years.

Visual Artist

As a storyteller in images, I create installations, videos, sound design, paintings, sculpture, etc. My work has been in over 30 solo and group exhibitions in North America and Italy. Artist and Community Engagement Organizer

Painted a cargo container and created a sound design as well as organized community discussions for a project titled, Container Conversations (facebook page). The project looked at what it takes to constitute a neighbourhood in Hastings Sunrise. The project was funded by a grant from the City of Vancouver.

I produced for "Sense of Place" with Minelle Mahtani. I was also the producer for "This Neighbourhood Life", which received the BCAB award for community service.

I wrote grants, taught some classes, created videos and organized social media for this writing group that served the Downtown Eastside in Vancouver.

Freelance Director/Writer

I originated and developed a multi-platform, multi-year film project about the effects of experimental education on nine youth. This project was never completed.

Executive Director

As ED, I reviewed, reported on, and made suggestions regarding the over 200 proposals from across the state of Utah. The foundation allocated approximately $1.7M annually. I created a data base, streamlined the application process and established new guidelines and review processes.

Director, Producer, Writer

I wrote, directed and/or produced 18 hour-length documentaries and biographies for national broadcast on public television and cable stations, including The Discovery Channel, MSNBC, WNYC, WNET, Lifetime, etc. I also produced, directed and wrote many videos for foundations and organizations in NYC, and was the coordinating director of a series for The Discovery Channel.
