      • Apr 2020 - Present

The "Forum d'avenir Franco-Allemand" or "Deutsche-Französische Zukunftswerk" was created by article 22 of the Treaty of Aachen, signed by President Macron and Chancellor Merkel in 2019. The Forum aims to learn from local and regional initiatives in France and Germany that address the societal transformations our countries are going through. It engages with a few initiatives over several years, provides a dialogue platform gathering actors of these initiatives, experts and policymakers; and facilitates the co-design of policy recommendations to be handed yearly to the Franco-German ministerial council and parliamentary group.

I continue developing ideas to support within French and German public administrations a culture of collaboration with the outside : citizens, civil-society organisations, small firms, local government... the perspectives of those who are often kept outside the decision-making circles even though these decisions affect their lives.

I read a lot and collaborate with motivated individuals and institutions in France and Germany to develop new ideas and projects aiming to increase popular trust in democratic institutions and government. Some say our democracies are in crisis; I believe our democracies are transitioning to a new form reflecting societal changes induced by the many digital revolutions we have been through since the 1960s. I successfully gave birth to healthy, happy and energetic twins, then survived 16 months of heavy sleep deprivation. I managed round-the-clock baby care and provided psychological and academic support to my eldest son during his transition from a single-child-living-in-France state to a the-babies-get-all-the-attention-and-I can't-understand-what-my-teacher-says-in-class-and-I-have-no-friends-in-this-new-school state. To be fair, I relied extensively on the support of our families and friends. I developed through this experience exceptional multi-task management skills. I am able to remain cool-headed, patient and focus-oriented in highly stressful conditions. I also learned to view work as a source of joy, not only as a duty.
